You can link to several things in your post:

   1.  Another website
   2.  A picture (to be placed into your post)
   3.  A file (e.g. a sound to be played or a file to be downloaded)

I'll address each of them separately.

1.
Another website - You want to send someone to a story located at http://www.bigsory.com.  You want the words
"Big Story" to link to that site.  You want the story to appear in a new window so you don't have to leave the VL.
The format looks like this:

Hey, check out the
<a href="http://www.bigstory.com"target="new">Big Story</a>.

It looks like this:
Hey, check out the Big Story.

2.  A picture - You can place a picture into your post by adding its address to the "Image URL" field below the text
field.  But first, your picture has to
have an address.  Never fear.  If the picture you want to use is not already on the
web with a known address, you can upload your picture to our server using an FTP* program (if you don't have
one,
here's a recommended free one).  The FTP address to plug into this program is:  ftp.virtuallounge.net, The
username and password are the same ones used to access the VL (Note: for FTP you must put
"@virtuallounge.net" after the username).  Your picture will be placed into a folder called "loungepix."  AFTER you
have uploaded the image using the FTP program, then you put the following address in the "Image URL" field:

http://www.virtuallounge.net/loungepix/yourpicture.jpg

(note: replace "yourpicture" with the name of your picture and the ".jpg" with your pictures extension, ususlly .jpg or
.gif)

3.
A file - If you want to share a file with us, a song for example, you use a combination of the two techniques
above.  Just follow these steps:

   1.  Upload the file to the server with the FTP program (see above)
   2.  Link to that file as you would another website (see above) but instead of "http://www.bigstory.com" you would
use "
http://www.virtuallounge.net/loungepix/myfile.doc" (Note: replace "myfile.doc" with your uploaded file
and it's extension).  ALSO:  Don't use the "target="new"" part.

Using these steps in the above example would link the words "Big Story" to a Word file called "myfile.doc"  When
one clicked the link, the document would automatically start downloading (you'd get the download v.s open
dialogue)

It seems hard, but it's actually quite easy.  Let me know if you have any trouble.
