Quote of the Day

Hectic
Blogging will be very slow for the indefinite future as we have moved and started a new job. Stay tuned for more babymania when the dust settles. Thanks.

Didn't Even See it Coming
We interrupt Babymania to show you how easy it can be to pry $20,000,000 of funding for public television from the hands of a crusty Republican Senator determined to cut its budget.

My New House
I was thinking something like this would be nice, assuming it doesn't cost too much.
Disclaimer: I don't speak or read Russian, so if the rest of that site is dedicated to the joys of Soviet inter-species pedophilic homoerotica or some such, please don't blame me.

How's It Going In Iraq?
Well, even if one were to limit his reading to a pair of well respected pro-war conservatives, like this one and this one, he still wouldn't know what to think.
Update: "You are being lied to."

Cartoons
The infamous cartoons of Mohammed can be found here. I've removed them from this page because, in a country where nobody is killing or burning anything over this, the "exercise" in offense is unnecessary. I'll leave the link up in the interest of solidarity with those in Europe who have some serious work to do if they are going to restore freedom in the face of Muslim intimidation...something America must guard against as well. But gratuitous offense simply is not warranted in this case.

A Disconnect
My mother thinks I'm crazy, but I think there is a clear relationship between this story and this one.

Nanny State Update
You knew this was coming:
Anti-smoking activists who are driving cigarettes from public places across the country are now targeting private homes -- especially those with children...
Quote of the Day
"We're increasingly confident that victory in Iraq is not only possible but likely. The biggest threat to winning now is in Washington, D.C. Let's hope that with their tremendous vote yesterday Iraqis delivered faint-hearted U.S. politicians the necessary dose of fortitude."
-- The Wall Street Journal

Best of the Week
William Buckley mentions the dirty little secret.
Joe Lieberman alludes to it.
Mark Steyn too.
Norman Podhoretz does too, and with an interesting Thomas Paine quote to boot.

LottoMania
I've heard it said that the odds of winning the lottery are the same whether you play or not. Perhaps there's something to that.
